What is Waakye?
Waakye (pronounced waa-chay) is a traditional Ghanaian dish of rice and black-eyed beans cooked together with dried waakye leaves (sorghum stalks), which give the dish its distinctive reddish-brown colour and subtle earthy depth. It is one of Ghana's most popular street foods, sold from dawn by waakye sellers across the country.
What's Inside
Our Waakye is served with assorted beef — a rich mix of tender beef cuts slow-cooked in a spiced tomato stew, delivering deep, meaty flavour in every mouthful. Accompanied by a portion of shito (Ghana's famous black pepper and smoked fish sauce) for an authentic finishing touch.
